Omocha Souko Part 6: Coming Home With a Bag Full of Famicom Carts

Just a quick post. As I`ve mentioned a couple of times in recent posts, Omocha Souko here has been having a going out of business sale this month. I`ve been buying up lots and lots of their Famicom stuff cheap. Unfortunately there aren`t many valuable games or major bargains, but when I brought home one lot a few days ago I noticed how nice a bag full of random, cheap Famicom carts looks so I thought I would take a picture and share it here. Just look at all of them in there. Happy as peas in a pod I`m sure.

  1. Consider yourself lucky! Being able to walk out of a shop with a bag full of Nintendo Famicom cartridges is a dream to many of us :(

  2. I am lucky indeed! Or at least I am until the end of the month when the store closes!

  3. Make the most of it while you can Sean!

By the way, Bomberking is a great game - nice to see it on top there.

  4. Lovely! Also, I like how the game you mentioned in your last post -- Makai Shima -- was included in this lot. Kind of like coming full circle, eh? :)

  5. Hollo - will do:) I like Bomber King a lot too, I think it is one of the more under-rated Famicom games.

Bryan - Yes I noticed that too! I`ve actually already had that one for a while, most of these I picked up just to toss them into my 3$ each carts on my sales thread. The unfortunate thing about sales like this when you already own most of the Famicom carts out there is that you don`t find anything new.

Incidentally, I just made my first ever online Famicom cart purchase. I will put a post up about that when it arrives:)

  7. Yes, kuso-ge is probably the right word for it! Fortunately I like kuso-ges!

  8. They do look nice in there. From the ones I can see look like winners from their covers. Like you, in your last post, they're all practically new to me. And I see that there's a copy of Makai Shima.

  9. Hi Jason. They are kind of winners. Dough Boy (the blue cart with the American flag on it) is actually renowned as one of the worst games every released on the Famicom though. Ironically this gives it a bit of appeal since some people like punishment:)

  10. Why is Dough Boy supposedly so bad? :-/ Those lists are made by people who don't know what they are talking about...

Once you figure out how to set the bombs, the game is very playable.

Lists like that are so arbitrary that any game could be on it...

  11. I have to admit that I have never spent much time playing Dough Boy. Your comment has made me re-think my position on the game though. I will definitely give it another try!

  12. Uh-oh, Bomber King is harder than fighting Chuck Norris in a roundhouse kick contest (>_<)

  13. Yup, Bomber King could totally kick Chuck Norris` ass.
