I used to live in the Kansai area from 1999-2005 and the ones in my area didn`t have any (or they might have I suppose, I wasn`t into retro games back then).

All the GEOs in town here liquidated their pre-Game Cube/ PS2 games about a year and a half ago. It was actually great at the time, they marked everything at 50% off for a couple months, then put whatever was left at 100 yen each. I went on a massive shopping spree to all of the GEOs (I think 7 or 8 of them) at that time and got some great deals.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892786114932769023.post-4016772011979949532012-02-12T22:56:18.329+09:002012-02-12T22:56:18.329+09:00When I lived in Osaka in 2006/2007, my local Tsuta...When I lived in Osaka in 2006/2007, my local Tsutaya had a pretty good retro section (including lots of Famicom games). I heard that Tsutaya sold of all their retro stuff cheap a few years back though, so I think they stuff they have now is just the leftover stuff they couldn't sell.

Now that I'm in Japan again it was quite disappointing when I first went into a Tsutaya! Same with Geos as well, my local in Osaka had a great retro section, but they seem to be even worse than Tsutaya now (at least in Fukuoka). The oldest thing my local has is a few GBA and Gamecube games.Mikenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892786114932769023.post-24668889882284130882012-01-20T23:06:08.104+09:002012-01-20T23:06:08.104+09:00Well, I suppose the best actual deal was millions ...Well, I suppose the best actual deal was millions of copies of EA Sports games for 50p but I'd rather play... well, anything else! Mega Bomberman was the only game worth playing! :PRetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892786114932769023.post-11763666336825934092012-01-19T09:15:48.791+09:002012-01-19T09:15:48.791+09:00Wow, 17 pounds for Mega Bomberman was the best dea...Wow, 17 pounds for Mega Bomberman was the best deal you found? This actually sounds very much like the BEST retro section in UK stores (in other words, the ONLY retro sections!). The only time I ever found anything good in a retro 'section' here was when I found Mega Bomberman for the MD for £17 (not a particularly good price either)... Boo hoo :(RetroKingSimonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609689348601442117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892786114932769023.post-34801065600322098392011-12-29T09:25:52.047+09:002011-12-29T09:25:52.047+09:00That has been my experience too, Nate. The Tsutaya I visited in this post is the only one I found any retro games at (I`ve visted 4 or 5 others).Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892786114932769023.post-4950874777407675912011-12-29T01:33:54.072+09:002011-12-29T01:33:54.072+09:00In the few Tsutaya stores I've been to around ...In the few Tsutaya stores I've been to around Tokyo, I've never seen any retro game sections. Granted, I didn't go to them too often, but there was a decently sized one a station over from me and I never saw any there.Natehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08121556443188603610noreply@blogger.com
